Merve Salgar and Anıl Eraslan perform their own compositions alongside pieces of Ottoman music they love, in a spontaneous performance with no predetermined sequence. This free-form performance is guided by improvisations that unfold in response to the sonic texture and the possibilities of the moment. Tanbur player and improviser Merve Salgar develops a personal approach to the instrument, at the intersection of tradition and contemporary music. She collaborates with a range of artists from traditional and experimental music scenes. Cellist and improviser Anıl Eraslan works between Berlin, Strasbourg and Istanbul. He performs with musicians and ensembles from around the world, spanning traditional music, jazz and experimental music.
