Imbroglio

The musicians of Imbroglio came together through free improvisation, but each one carries a specific musical background, ranging from Turkish classical music to noise, and including contemporary music.

In these times of identity tightening and the pressure to belong without nuance, Imbroglio's music aims to be an electroacoustic conversation (sometimes turbulent!) between six minds in one head.

Like a hydra with four heads, the magnetic tapes serve as alter egos for each of the acoustic voices. They hear everything, record everything! But subtly, they introduce difference, loops of fixed ideas, a distortion of discourse. Our own voice responds to us in mimicry, buried ideas resurface... As soon as an idea is put forward, we lose control over it, no longer being ourselves.
