Sousta Politiki
Between tradition and contemporary aesthetics, the Franco-Turkish group Sousta Politiki powerfully and uniquely reinterprets the Smyrneiko repertoire (Greek Rebetiko from Asia Minor) and the songs of Istanbul, adding their own original compositions.
Along the Bosphorus, between East and Balkans, they structure, form, learn, unlearn, and reinvent their music, embracing where they come from, who they are, and what they have to say.
A constellation of inspirations and contrasts, which the musicians skillfully juggle in a sparkling assortment of melodies, hovering on the edge between joy and melancholy.
